King royalty

Memorise: “Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself” (Phil. 3:21).

A king has royalty, honour and prestige. His dressing is unique. He wears a crown on his head. He wears a royal robe and is decked with expensive jewelry, pearls or beads. Even from a distance he is identified as a king. Believers have a robe of righteousness that cannot be stolen from them when they get to heaven. This robe is a most royal robe. They are decked with the ornaments of the fruit of the Spirit while their crowns await them in heaven. As a child of God, you have royalty; hence 1 Peter 2:9 says you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation and a peculiar people. But unlike earthly kings, your body can radiate the glory of God after absorbing it due to long stay in His presence. In fact, Philippians 3:21 says our bodies will eventually become like our Lord’s glorious body which will continue to glow and radiate God’s glory.

In today’s reading, Jesus says you are the light of the world. As light, your relevance is determined by how much you can shine for the world to see and glorify God. How are you shining? 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord”. As a believer, your royalty will be hidden until you behold God’s glory. You cannot see God’s glory until you enter into His presence. The level of royalty you will exude will be the much you have absorbed in His presence. The much of His glory you daily exude will qualify you to be finally conformed into His glorious body. How regularly do you enter the presence of the King of kings to have a glory refill?

1 Peter 2:17 says people owe kings honour. If you continually refill your glory container, demons, men and all other things will honour you. Kings are number one citizens. They do not sweat to do things. People happily serve them. Do you know that it is God’s glory on your life that compels demons, men and situations to bow to you? They bow to you not because of you, but because of what you carry- the glory of their Maker. They bow to you thinking they are bowing to their Creator. If your children find it difficult to obey you, or demons, men and circumstances hardly bow to you, it because you are empty of God’s glory Go for a refill daily.

God’s glory flowing through you is the back up and back bone for reigning as a king. How much of it do you daily absorb?
