| DIVING DEEPER |

Memorise: “Verily verily I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father” (John 14:12). Read: 2 Kings 2: 9-15 |
God is calling you to launch into the deep. Psalm 36:6 says God’s judgements are very deep. It takes the fellow who can dig deep to fetch it out. Psalm 92:5 says God’s thought and plans are reserved in a very deep place hence you must get out your digger if you intend to know what is reserved for you in His thoughts. Psalm 42:7 says, “Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me”. In other words the shallow Christian can only scratch the surface of the treasures reserved for believers. It takes someone who is diligent, hungry and thirsty enough to dig into the wealth of such treasury. It pays to dig deep. ![]() One way you can launch into the deep is by moving from simple requests to hard ones. The ability to confidently ask God for very tough or hard things is an evidence of a high level of faith. People with little faith will ask for little things and be prepared to pay a little price. Those with great faith will ask for great things and be prepared to pay a great price. In 2 Kings 2:9-15 when Elisha tabled his request, Elijah screamed that he had asked for a hard thing. But he got it. Surprisingly, it is easier for people of great faith who are prepared to pay the price to receive answer to their difficult requests than for those with lesser faith to receive little requests. God wants you to ask for double portion anointing. To be healed is one thing. To live in perfect health is another. But to be full of God’s healing power that you become a channel through which the healing virtue flows to heal others is far better and this is where God wants you to be. Do not ask to lay hands and heal the sick: ask for your handkerchiefs to chase out demons and for your shadows to raise the dead. In John 14:12, Jesus promised we can beat His works record through His assistance. If God could do it in the lives of Peter and Paul, He can do it in your life. Hebrews 13:8 says He never changes: whatever He did before, He can do again. It is time to upgrade your asking. Let your request be commensurate with God’s ability to perform. Move from asking for the salvation of family members and your village to that of nations. Move from asking to be blessed into becoming a blessing. |
