| INTRODUCTION TO TRUE WEALTH |
|
Memorise: “But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city” (Hebrews 11:16). Read: Hebrews 11:8-16 |
| “I gathered me also silver and gold, and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces: I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts” (Ecclesiastes 2:8). Another common characteristic found among earthly kings is wealth and riches. They acquire silver and gold which King Solomon calls ‘the peculiar treasure of kings’. They amass material possessions and live in palaces. An impoverished king is a shame to his kingdom. Any king who goes cap in hand begging will lose his respect, honour and prestige. His subjects will hardly submit to him. Many believers are struggling with poverty. The presence of poverty in their lives has eroded their authority and made rubbish of their kingship. If you are a king without wealth and riches, the Lord will financially empower you today in Jesus’ name. Every believer has his or her palace in heaven. They are called ‘mansions’ in John 14:1-3 and are truly palatial. These palaces are designed by the Architect of architects-Jesus Christ and the materials used together with the furnishing have no earthly comparison. Hebrews 11:10 says of Abraham “For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God”. The King of glory has adequately prepared all that His kings will need. The problem is that when He sets out to move His children from one level of wealth to another in preparation for the greatest level of glory in heaven, some of them get so carried away that they turn the earthly mansions to their heavenly palaces. In Hebrews 11:16, Abraham and other kings of old refused to be trapped by the comfort, wealth and riches that they had on earth. In fact, some deliberately lived in tents not because they could not afford more comfortable houses but because they never wanted to lose sight of their heavenly palaces. Are you allowing temporary earthly achievements to rob you of eternal wealth? That is a great undoing. The material and financial blessings are mere shadows. They are meant to introduce you to true wealth, glory and honour you will enjoy eternally in heaven. Don’t ever lose focus! |
