| “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen” (1 Timothy 1:17). There are several kingdoms playing active roles in daily events that affect our terrestial existence. They come in this order; the Kingdom of God, an offshoot of God’s Kingdom controlled by the believers, the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of this world. God is the King over all the earth and His Kingdom is an everlasting one. Psalm 10:16 says, “The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land”. When God created man, He made them to be kings on earth to subdue the earth and have dominion over everything on earth (Genesis 1:26-28). But when man sinned, he lost the authority and throne over the earth. Till date, unbelievers are kings who have been stripped of all their powers, throne and paraphernalia pertaining to the kingdom. Every unbeliever is a mockery of true kingship. However on repenting and turning over to Christ, they are automatically reinstated as kings unto God (Revelation 1:5-6). There are certain characteristics common to kings. We may need to look at earthly kings in order to learn how we should live. A king has a crown, a throne, a kingdom and subjects under him. Every believer whom Christ has made a king unto His Father equally has the same. Unlike most earthly kings who may have one or two crowns, believers can have up to seven crowns. The crowns are incorruptible and eternal in nature reserved for us in heaven. Believers have thrones. They will share the throne of the Lord Jesus Christ which was designed by God. Every believer also has a kingdom and subjects to rule over. There is no king without these. Unfortunately, many believers have not accepted their kingship. It stops with mouth affirmation. After God created animals in Genesis 2:19-20, He allowed Adam to rule over them. Adam was the one who named and determined their destinies as they stand till date. God never infringed on Adam’s authority. If you refuse to rule over those God has placed under you, God will be looking at you. He will not do what He has delegated to you. You should start practicing how to rule and reign now. Don’t wait until you get to heaven. You are a king. |

How you live determines whether you have accepted your kingship or not. If you live in defeat, you are a subject not a king. How often do you exercise your authority? |
