| FAITH AND AGGRESSION |
|
Memorise: “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12). Read: Mark 10:46-52 |
We have considered different types of faith. It must be noted that one can be weak or strong in faith. Not all faith can achieve results, except those that have a blend of certain vital qualities. The first one is aggression. The faith that can produce result, the type that will go to the throne of grace and not return empty-handed must have an adequate dose of aggression. Aggressive faith has an unquenchable desire to obtain what it has set out for, it has a fighting spirit that will never accept ‘No’ for an answer. May the Lord add aggressiveness to your faith in Jesus’ name.
In Mark 10:46-47, estwhile blind Bartimaeus exhibited the aggressive type of faith. He had a physical handicap- blindness just as Samson after his fall. But while the anointed Samson felt it was better to die than live without sight, Bartimaeus refused to die without seeing. And God honoured their faith. Bartimaeus’ faith was unstoppable. It was deaf to noise and distractions around him. He did not mind those who thronged Jesus but never got a miracle. He was focused and persisted until he obtained his sight. Today, when people read the passage, they still call him ‘Blind Bartimaeus’ but if he had the opportunity to return to earth now, he would tell the world, I have a point of correction. I am ‘seeing’ Bartimaeus. How aggressive is your faith? When aggression is added to your faith, it completely envelopes fear and causes you to advance where others retreat. This is the kind of faith you require to deal with the devil and demons if you must obtain their respect. It forcefully snatches opportunity and recovers whatever was stolen (Matthew 11:12). I travelled to North America sometime ago. In the house my children in the Lord received me, I met a woman who had been barren for several years. Her faith had a streak of aggression. She did not allow me to finish eating my meal before she hurriedly gathered my plates and ate the leftover. She believed the day she eats from the same plate with me, her problem would be solved. Nine months later, she had a baby. Whatever the level or type of faith you may have, add some aggressiveness and you will get result. Faith is ‘now’! Stop turning your faith for the blessing into ‘hope’. Add some dose of aggression and the Lord will release the blessing. |
