| “And of the angels he saith, who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire” (Hebrews 1:7). One thing God never compromised when He created man was the fact that he was given the power of choice. Man was created a free moral agent – left to decide whether to serve God or not. When He created the billions of angels, He also gave them the power to choose to be loyal to Him or otherwise. Today, there are two broad categories of angels: those loyal to God and those loyal to Satan. Those who shifted their loyalty to Satan and willingly rebelled against God are the fallen angels. They individually teamed up with Satan and agreed to break away to set up a parallel government to that of God. They fell with Satan and are today called demons and unclean spirits. Jude 1:6 talks of them. “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day”. All such dirty angels have the same fate with Satan. They will eventually spend eternity in the lake of fire with the rebel leader.
However, the angels that remained loyal to God, who refused to join Satan’s rebel group remain as angels of God in heaven. They remain in God’s service in heaven for all eternity. They are called the ‘holy angels’ and wherever the Holy Spirit is moving, they follow. They are ever present whenever the Holy Spirit is in manifestation. Believers are carriers of the Holy Spirit, so whenever spirit – filled believers assemble and rejoice, angels attend to them. One lesson we can learn from the angels is that just as it happened to them, the time has come for men to decide who to serve – whether God or Satan. For those who will choose God and remain true to Him till death, they will become immortally established in righteousness and conformed into the image of Christ forever. Your challenge is to serve the Lord till death or the day of rapture. After this, you would not struggle anymore. Your nature would have been completely programmed to do nothing but live for God. The holy angels cannot sin anymore because they have overcome what we are going through today. Remain steadfast till the end. It will soon be over. And then you will discover you will live eternally for Him without any stress or personal effort. |
