| OBJECT OF JUDGEMENT |

King David was a man who loved the Lord. A look at the Psalms reveals he had an in-depth knowledge of God, great wisdom and fear of God. He was one great praise singer who knew how to touch God’s heart through praise. Yet his relationship with God was subject to certain limitations and flaws, pointing to an unending struggle between the flesh and the spirit. This tells us that even though God sets out to use us or walk with us, the extent He can go is entirely dependent on us.  Having been established as king over Israel, king David declared a period of rest. He began to indulge his flesh. The season kings should normally be at the battle front came. He released his army to the battlefield but continued to indulge his flesh. Not long after, temptation came and he fell into adultery. Certain sins are preventable, if you are at the right place doing the right thing, there are certain temptations, great mistakes or actions you would later regret that could be prevented. King David violated Ecclesiastes 3:1, 8 and the effect was disastrous and enduring. May the Lord help you to spend your time according to His perfect will in Jesus’ name. When it’s time to be in church but you decide to stay at home, you may be inviting another Davidic disaster. When Bathsheba conceived from her extra – marital relationship with David and God’s judgement came on the product of sin — the baby, David began to fast and pray to have God spare its life. That child would have remained a stigma on David’s family and on the name of the Lord yet David wanted it alive by all means. If you are involved in sin, the product of such a sin- it may be a child, wealth, certificates, houses and lands, position, etc. becomes an object of judgement. As long as you refuse to restitute on the issue, it will remain a stigma both on the name of the Lord and on you. Is God judging that object of sin? Let Him do it. If your house maid has become your mistress, confess to God and your wife and send her packing. If you attained your present position through backsliding, lies against your opponents and other evil means, repent now and make the necessary restitution. Go back and tell those you have offended what you did in ignorance and make peace with them or else that supposed blessing will remain an object for judgement. |
