| If you are born again and spirit-filled, but impoverished in this world’s goods, you stand the risk of losing your potential converts. When the Spirit of God in you draws them close to the well of salvation, the marks of the city of poverty will work contrary to plan. It will tell the potential converts, There is nothing good being offered by the Kingdom of God or else, why is the one preaching to you clothed in rags? Poverty is a major obstacle to the gospel. Apart from this, it is a major hindrance to the establishment of converts as well as the expansion of the Kingdom of God. The gospel of Jesus Christ is a very expensive one. Poverty cripples the Gospel message and programme. One major reason people run from struggling parishes is to avoid being asked to be financially involved. Why are pastors and ushers stealing from the church purse? Poverty. Why are wrong people promoted to levels of responsibility? Poverty. Why are ministers covenanting with Satan for ‘black’ power to use in God’s house? Poverty. Why reports of ritual killings and hired assassins involving church leaders? Poverty. These are why you cannot remain poor. The Lord will forcefully pull you out of the city of poverty this year in the name of Jesus.
Proverbs 22:7 says poverty can put you in perpetual bondage in the midst of freedom. It can multiply task masters unto you after leading you into debt. The poor never rules over the rich. Poverty robs the poor of his freedom of speech. It makes him beg as one without rights (Proverbs 18:23). Also according to Proverbs 30:14 the poor are seen as objects of the devourers. Today, especially in some parts of our country, the poor live in houses that have been covenanted to Satan. And as long as they reside there, their lives remain in perpetual bondage. This is why believers should be rich so that they can build houses that are covenanted to God, where tenants would enter in and make progress. For you to break free from poverty however, you have to avoid causes of poverty such as: stinginess, withholding meat from the needy: oversleeping, sluggishness, idleness, love of pleasure, gluttony and refusal to repent of sin. Are you born again? Every yoke of poverty in your life is destroyed now in Jesus name. |
