Do not envy the wicked

Psalm 73

1. In Psalm 73 vs 3, David confessed that he was envious of the prosperity of the wicked.
2. David lamented that the wicked seem to be succeeding more than the righteous.
3. David lamented that the wicked are more prosperous than the children of God.
4. David was envious of the wicked because they increase in riches, prosper, though they oppress the poor, and are ungodly.
5. God, however, opened the eyes of David to see the end of the wicked, which was sudden destruction.
6. David then realized he had committed an error by envying the prosperity of the wicked.
7. The lesson is that do not follow or envy the prosperity of the wicked, allow God to prosper you.
