Memorise: “Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion” (Isaiah 8:18). Read: 2 Corinthians 12:1-9 |
| To succeed or even excel in ministry, it is important to study the lives of those who were considered successful, or otherwise to know why they succeeded or failed. Paul was an excellent apostle. I took immediately to him in my quest to discover secrets of ministerial success, Initially, I thought it was his education that made him excel but later discovered it wasn’t. Was it then his humility? He did not start being humble. Infact, he was a great boaster. In Philippians 3, he took pride in everything he had accomplished and said it out loud to all who cared to know. His pride was not responsible for his success. Much later, when he began to become more and more successful in ministry, he realized that to sustain the ride to greater spiritual heights, he needed to continue to humble himself. What was responsible for Paul’s excellence in ministry? 1 Corinthians 14:18 says, “I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all.” After He was baptized in the Holy Spirit, he discovered he had the ability to speak in the tongues of the spirit, so he made up his mind to excel in speaking in tongues. Paul was a go-getter. He was an ambitious young man who put aside everything he had in order to get whatever he wanted. As he grew up, he determined that even though he hailed from the least tribe in Israel – the tribe of Benjamin, yet he was going to become the youngest and most outstanding Ph.D. holder in law. And he achieved it. Now, he had become a believer and had received the Holy Spirit, so he simply applied himself with all zeal to it and became outstanding. Baptism in the Holy Spirit is the gate way into the miraculous. Speaking in tongues is the vehicle that will convey you from one bus stop to another in the land of the miraculous. Paul stayed in the fire of the Holy Spirit longer than anyone else. The longer an iron stays in the fire, the hotter it becomes, and the brighter it shines. In fact, at a stage, the iron changes form and becomes red hot. That is, it takes the same form as the fire. Have you received the Holy Spirit baptism? Then you have come to the door way to the miraculous. I challenge you today, as you decide to excel in the language of the Spirit daily, you will access power, abundance of revelations and a higher level of faith; you will begin to think like the Holy Spirit and become the more like Him. |
