| One pertinent issue burning in the minds of people, whether Christians or not, is the issue of guidance. People want to know what the future holds for them. They want to know who they will marry how many children they will have; what will happen to them when they are old; what type of job they should be engaged in, etc. The quest for the unknown has driven many to fake prophets, astrologers, palm readers, and other occultic groups for guidance. This has equally enriched and made famous these groups. Many believers in Christ are still at a loss over how God leads His people. They may be asking, “how can we hear God’s voice or be directed by Him?” We shall be examining this we as continue in this series. If you try to project into the future using the socio-political and economic indices in the nation, the future appears very bleak. The future is shrouded in uncertainty, hopelessness and misery. But for a child of God, it is different. It does not matter whoever is there as president, governor or leader. One thing I know about my tomorrow is that it shall be alright. Fear not, beloved. Your future is in God’s hands. Your tomorrow shall be aright. In His dealings with the children of Israel, God proved Himself to be their guide. When He commissioned Moses to go and set His people free, Moses took a certain route to Egypt other than the way of the Red sea. But when Israel were Canaan bound, God asked them to go in another direction which Moses had never passed before. The way to our promised land is a route we have never taken before. The path to eternity in Heaven is one none of us has ever followed before, hence we need divine guidance from the Lord. Just as God did not leave Israel alone in the wilderness, the Lord will not leave you alone in your wilderness in Jesus name. According to Exodus 13:21, God led the children of Israel by a pillar of cloud that touched the ground from Heaven. At night, they would be unable to see the cloudy pillar, so God changed it to a pillar of fire. This way, both day and night were as bright as noonday to them. They made progress both day and night. Everyone knew where they were going. As God led them in the wilderness, so He leads us today. If you are a child of God, there is no night for you because Jesus as the Light will lighten your night. As long as you stick close to Him, He will reveal hidden events to you. The plans of your enemies will be at your finger tips. He will never forsake you. Where do you receive guidance today? Go to Jesus. He will happily show you the way. He has been through this path before (Heb. 2:18). |
