| Memorise: “Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies” (Ps 60:12).
Read: Ezekiel 37:1-3 |
| “And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest” (Ezek 37:3). God took Ezekiel on a trip to a valley of dry bones and asked if the bones could live again.
In other words, God was indirectly saying to Ezekiel, ‘You have the resources to make these bones live. Use them’. In Genesis 2:19-20, God brought all the animals He had created to Adam. They were nameless, without an identity and without a future. He expected that through giving them names, Adam would impart an identity and mannerism, which should pattern their lifestyle for as long as they lived. God was indirectly saying to Adam, ‘You have the resources to give a sense of identity, belonging and to pattern the future of the animals. Do it’. One way or the other both Ezekiel and Adam succeeded in doing what God believed they could. God still brings situations, challenges and problems to His children today. And He will ask: ‘Can these problems be solved? Can this person be healed? Can this barrenness be turned into fruitfulness?’ What He is actually saying is that you have all the resources – God, His angels, the wealth of the heavenly planet, fellow believers, and all He has invested in you, to bring about a positive change in that situation. Whenever God causes you to face such scenarios, what do you tell Him? “Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies” (Psalm 60:12). When God brings such situations or challenges to you, it is because He knows that He can solve the problems through you. If God could impart a unique identity, and set a behavioural pattern for each animal through Adam, He can use you to rename situations and circumstances. If God could also use Ezekiel to raise one strong army from a heap of dry bones, there is nothing He cannot do through you this year. This calls for effective partnership with the Lord. You need to see your God as being greater than any challenge that comes your way. Have faith in God and believe that He will not leave you alone. This encounter tells us that no matter how bad a situation is, God can bring something good from it. Something good is coming out of that hopeless situation you are in, if only you can call on Him today. |
