THE CHARACTER OF GOD: God can become your enemy

Lamentation 2 vs 5

The Lord was as an enemy: he hath swallowed up Israel, he hath swallowed up all her palaces: he hath destroyed his strong holds, and hath increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.

1. God can become an enemy and an adversary.
2. God can transform from a friend to an enemy.
3. It is not Satan that causes all afflictions. God Himself can create afflictions.
4. In this verse, God became an enemy against Israel and Judah.
5. When God becomes an enemy, the purpose is to execute judgment against the disobedient.
