Matthew 14 vs 16
But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.
- The Church’s primary purpose is to meet the spiritual needs of the people.
- Apart from this, the Church also must meet the people’s material needs. If people are hungry, preaching the Gospel to them is not enough, they also need to be fed.
- Jesus taught. Preached but fed the people with bread and fish.
- In Matthew 14 vs 16, Jesus desired to feed people experiencing poverty.
- We saw at various times that Jesus Christ provided the people with wine, water and food. Jesus Christ did not allow his followers’ people to go hungry. He instructed his disciples to provide them with what to eat.
- The modern Church must give food to the poor.
