Halloween, a festival that is commonly celebrated on October 31st in the United States, is associated with paganism, witchcraft and Romanism and yet most professing Christians are found participating in related activities. Some churches will even cancel services when Halloween falls on Sunday, so that their members may be free to celebrate (http://www.baptistpillar.com/bd0222.htm).
I once asked someone what he thought about Halloween and his answer was quite straight forward, intriguing, and meaningful. He said most people that participate in Halloween dressed like monsters and that makes them looked like monsters. Out of curiosity, I checked out the real lexicon meaning of the word “monster.” It means a person that is exceptionally evil. Therefore, it would be a fatal shame to see any professing Christian participate directly or indirectly in this evil celebration of Halloween.
A common proverb says, “It is ignorant that makes the rat to call the cat into a fight.” The Bible says, “My people perish for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). Can’t common sense appeal to the spirit of God in us that God despises anything that glories darkness and evil? Can a supposed Christian pay obeisance to God and the devil at the same time? Can we invite Jesus Christ and the devil into our houses at the same time? Impossible! You must make a decision right now. You can’t participate in Halloween and Easter at the same time. The former is related to darkness and the worship of Satan, while the later is related to light signifying the death, burial and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Some churches have device a means by participating in Halloween indirectly by simply distributing candies to children on the same day of Halloween event, calling it “Candy Hunt.” What difference does it make? It is also called “Halloween Candy Hunt” in the world.
Embarking on Halloween celebration (directly or indirectly) would open up the door for all kinds of strange events in our lives, homes, and churches. More than likely many Christians are being tormented as a result of their direct or indirect involvement in the celebration of Halloween. Thank God it is not too late to make a complete U-turn.
You can unilaterally decide to dissociate from this evil practice today. Such a decision might make you unpopular. It might spark the wrath of others against you. What does it matter? I rather be a radical Christian and make it to heaven than to be a passive and permissive Christian and end up in the bottomless pit of hell. Break up the fallow ground and disengage from the practice of Halloween. Light and darkness can never walk together. Are you on the Lord’s side?

I shared with someone recently about the evils of Halloween – they did not listen – had a “holyween” part at his church. I let him know he opened the door for all kinds of evil spirits to enter – he disagreed – time will tell. He used the excuse it’s a way to reach people – Jesus ate with sinners – I said Jesus also said you’ve turned my Father’s house into a den of thieves. He made some other remarks – seems he wants to do it his way and not God’s – I’m praying
