Psalm 92 vs. 12

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

1. The Palm tree is a utility tree, useful and valuable for many purposes – the righteous shall be a blessing to others.
2. The palm grows tall and spreads its leaves as a shade, the righteous shall be strong and comfort others.
3. The palm tree can withstand drought and famine of the dry season because of its long roots-the righteous shall never lack.
4. The palm tree grows easily and spreads to several places – the righteous shall have dominion.
5. The stem of a palm tree is used as a bridge, the liquid as palm wine, the arms as a roof to houses, the nut as a fruit, the kernel as palm oil, the shell of the nut as a source of energy, the leaves as basket, and the tree itself as a shade – the righteous shall be a blessing.
