Joshua 23 vs. 7 – That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them:
- God expressly warned that we must not mention or swear in the name of idols
- Are you named after an idol? Every time your idolatrous name is pronounced, you are renewing the covenant with the idols associated with the names.
- Every time your idolatrous name is pronounced, God is not happy.
- Don’t be emotionally attached to any evil name. Change it now to a name that glorifies God.
Prayer:
- I cut off my evil roots in Jesus name.
