 Be not deceived, evil communications corrupt good manners- 1 Corinthians 15 vs.33

Another weekend is here. It is time for relations, to rest, shopping, visiting, and house cleaning among other preoccupations.

And it is also time to have some fun. But every Christian must decide what type of fun he should indulge in. Is it fun in the eyes of the world or in the eyes of God.

One way of having fun is watching movies. And there are various categories of movies- Action, Adventure, Romance, and Documentary are some of the types. This weekend  you must watch what you watch. A lot of sex movies are all over the place,  and the opportunities to get hooked to them abound.

The Bible says evil communication corrupt good morals, which means what  you watch may pollute you mind and cause you to sin.

How do you identify an evil communication?  The standard I have set for myself when I am faced with deciding whether to watch a film or not is to ask a simple question. Is this the kind of film or movie God will love to watch assuming He is here? Will the Holy Spirit be happy to see me watching this film? Does this film make me become a better Christian?

I believe the Spirit of God is always by our side to advice us on what to watch, but in most cases, we choose to harden our hearts.

You have a duty to monitor what you or your children watch.

1.      Impose a self censorship on yourself. Don’t use your funds to purchase any evil film

2.      Monitor the Television or Cable channels you tune. Block channels that show sex films.

3.      Avoid visiting places you are likely to be subjected to watching sexy films. Watch where you go.
