Sermon: Flee from adultery

Genesis 35 vs. 22 – 22 And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:

Genesis 49 vs. 3-4 – 3 Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power: Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.

1. Reuben had sexual relationship with his father’s (Jacob’s) concubine.
2. As a result of, Jacob cursed Reuben, his first born that he will never succeed in life.
3. The pleasures of sin for few minutes resulted in a life long curse on Reuben.
4. Flee from sexual immorality.

God of mercy cancel every inherited curse on my life in Jesus name.
