Genesis 28 vs. 22 – And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.
- Jacob knew God is the person that gave him all he has.
- He then vowed to give Him a tenth to honour Him
- The words of Jacob “And of all that thou shalt give me, I will surely give a tenth unto thee”
- If you are yet to start paying tithe, you are yet to recognise God as the source of your blessings.
Prayer
Spirit of God, open my eyes of understanding in Jesus name.

1. Jacob, the Supplanter, before he became Israel, was trying to stack the deck in his favor … he was cheating.
2. He then set the conditions (told God what to do) before he would give God anything.
3. The words of Jacob “And IF you will …. I will” showed his real “supplanter” character which is not an example for Christians to follow.
4. Jacob’s promise to tithe unholy pagan items only after God blessed him first is a horrible example of giving. Nobody tithes today because HOLY tithes under the law and as used by Malachi and Jesus were always only FOOD from inside God’s HOLY land of Israel.
