Genesis 13 vs. 2 – And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.
- Yes, Abraham was a man raised up by God and blessed by God.
- Abraham is the father of faith and since the Bible says, all nations are going to be blessed through Abraham that means all descendants of Abraham should be “very rich”.
Prayer
I covet the richness of Abraham in Jesus name.

Babatope, thanks so much for sharing your perspective. However, I believe that you are taking what the Bible is saying here out of context. When you look at the totality of Abraham’s life, it seems that God is most concerned about blessing the nations of the earth with eternal riches, not material ones. This is not to say that material riches will not come, but in Abraham they were a byproduct of the bigger picture.
In our lives, I also believe that material blessings are a byproduct of what God is doing in us and through us. They are not the goal and they are not the reason why we live. We live and breath so that through our witness others can come into relationship with God. And when God blesses us, it is for the purpose of using those blessings to bring others into the kingdom of God not to hoard it upon ourselves.
