Introduction:
Today am touching on a topic I called the GOD’s PRAYER REQUESTS and I am examining a passage in the Bible that reveals the importance of Soul winning and Evangelism as prayer request of God. The passage also gives an indication of how valuable a soul is in the presence of God and how the Kingdom of God reacts to the decision of a sinner to repent.
Psalm 48
Luke15 vs. 10
10 Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” NKJV
There are several lessons we can learn from this verse.
- The first lesson is that the repentance of Sinners bring Joy to God and His angels. The Bible does not say the Angels of God are happy or excited. The Bible is so careful to use the word ‘Joy’ which means.
- The second lesson from this passage is that Angels are in the presence ofGod watching over the activities of men and taking records of the every step taken by a human being. How would the Angels of God know that a sinner has repented if they have not been closely monitoring the behavior, attitude or manner of that sinner? The heavens keeps the minutest records of our activities on earth.
- The third lesson we can learn from this passage is that every soul is important to God. The Bible does not say that there is Joy in the presence of the Angels of God over 1000, 100, 10 or 2 souls that repent. The Bible says over just one soul that repents. It implies that your are unique and peculiar to God and God takes record of each individual.
- Another lesson we can learn from this passage is that the prayers of sinners will only be answered when they repent. The Bible says the repentance of a sinner brings Joy to God and his angels, which means if a sinners refuses to repent, the Kingdom of God will be sad because the sinners is in the kingdom of satan.
- Another lesson that can be learnt from this passage is that the secret to making God happy, the secret to getting the attention of God and his angels, the secret of causing a celebration in heaven, the secret of causing God and his angels to rejoice is to win souls or cause sinners to repent. I imagine that if a soul repents, and heaven is happy, the heavens will take notice of the person that lead the sinners to Christ. Every soul winners is therefore causing Joy in the heaven. I am persuaded that any person that caused Joy in heaven will not go unrewarded. I am persuaded that however heavens will reward any person that causes heavens to be Joyous will himself. If you are in the business of causing Joy to happen in heaven, God will also be in the business of causing his household to be Joyous over business, financial, health, and spiritual breakthroughs.
- The last lesson we can learnt from the passage is that God has prayer requests. God and his Angels are Joyous when a sinner repents, which means the Joy of God will increase when more sinners repent. Unfortunately, God and his angels can not preach to sinners directly. He needs you and I to evangelise to unbelievers so that they can be saved. The prayer requests of God is that sinners will repent, the prayer requests of God is that Christians will preach to sinners and lead them to repentance
Every man has prayer requests most of which has remained unanswered. Our prayer request is mainly about financial, material and health needs. God also hass a prayer request which we Christians have the power to grant, but have refused to grant. The prayer requests of God is that go and win sinners to my kingdom and bring me joy.
I am persuaded that as soon as we start answering the prayer requests of God and bring Joy to him by winning souls for him; he too will grant our prayer requests automatically. If our actions causes God to be joyous, I imagine that we do not need to pray before our needs are met.
I am concluding this message by saying that the secret of answered prayers is by causing Joy in heaven through soul winning. Jesus said in Mathew 28:
As long as you answer the prayer requests of , God will also easily answer your multitude of prayer requests.
As I end this message, I believe there is somebody that wants to bring joy to the presence of God today by committing to soul winning. Also believe there is a sinner that wants to bring joy to the presence of God today by saying Yes to Jesus.. If you fall under any of these categories, say this prayer:
My father and My God, I come to you as a sinner that have disobeyed your instruction. I surrender my life to you today. I promise to start the work of an evangelist. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I invite the Holy Spirit to rule my life in Jesus name.
