Reference Text: Acts 23 vs.` 11-13
There are several lessons we can learn from this passage
- Enemies are real. There are some physical and spiritual powers that want you down and dead. If you are the type that believes every person in this world is your friend and there are no spiritual forces of wickedness, then you are a potential victim.
- Enemies are more united that Christians. They execute their evil agenda togetherness and strong bond ship. Imagine more than forty people united for a purpose. If only Christians can agree in prayer and fasting, we would get better results.
- Enemies know the power in fasting, and in fact fast more than Christian. Imagine more than forty people going on a marathon fast to achieve a purpose. Whereas, it is difficult to get Christians to fast from a week or even three days, while some do not fast at all! The enemies know that without fasting nothing will happen. Christians believe without fasting miracles will happen.
- The enemies are more desperate in prayer more than Christians. In this passage, more that forty people decided that ‘they would neither eat nor drink till they have killed Paul’. They decreed marathon fasting and prayer, and put a curse a on themselves to seal it and prevent backsliding. If only Christians can show such fierce determination on spiritual matters, they will achieve better results.
- The enemies are ruthless. The aim of the enemy is not to incapacitate you or cause you to fall, but to kill you. So you need to kill them, before they kill you. In this passage, the agenda of the enemy is clear-‘they would neither eat nor drink till they have killed Paul’. If only Christians can be so ruthless in spiritual matters, we will achieve results
- The good news about this passage is that God is capable of frustrating every plan of the enemy. Inspite of their marathon fasting and curse they placed on themselves, the gang of forty were not able to actualise their agenda of killing Paul. As long as you are with Christ, no power of the enemy can overcome you.
- Another lesson is that evil conspirators shall inherit their wickedness. The Bible says in Isaiah 3 vs 11: Woe to the wicked, it shall be ill with him, for the rewards of his hands shall be given to him. Since all the forty or more conspirators that vowed not to eat or drink anything until Paul was killed were not able to kill Paul, it can be safely assumed that all of them died of hunger. If by chance any of them broke the rule and stopped fasting when it became obvious that Paul could not be killed, then the curse they placed on them would have sent them to their graves.
- The last lesson in this passage is that God is the deliverer. Paul escaped the rage of the evil conspirators because God helping him.
Today, as many powers that have vowed you shall not fulfilled your destiny, as many powers that want you dead, as many powers that have vowed that your sun shall not shine, as many powers that have prepared a grave for you, as many powers that have agreed on an evil agenda against your marriage, finances, work and family, as many evil conspirators that are gathered against your prosperity, their evils shall return on their heads in Jesus name.
Say this confessional prayer as you surrender your life to Christ.
Father in the name of Jesus, I come to you, just as I am. I confess I am a sinner. I repent of my sins and plead for forgiveness by the blood of the lamb. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I invite the Holy Spirit to rule my life in Jesus name.
If you have said that prayer, you are not a child of God and a born again Christian.
I pray that evil conspiators against your life, marriage, business, job, family, and destiny shall die in Jesus name. No matter their number, no matter the source of their powers, no matter their determination, no matter their evil plans, every hot pursuer of your life shall pursue themselves to their graves in Jesus name. The God of Paul shall save you and you shall fulfil your destiny in Jesus name. Your enemies shall be covered with the fire of disgrace and your life shall be fulfilled in Jesus name. Amen

I came to realise that I was surrounded by enemies in the form of unfriendly friends.They had so much envy for me and it turned to hatred.The good Lord has been so good and revealed them to me.

Thank you for this wonderful message and prayer. I am a victim of the operation of enemies from the kingdom of darkness and even my physical friends are more of enemies than friends. The story of my life and my experience in the storm of demon operation is too pathetic. I see snakes in my dream, i am being torment by a spirit wife, all my life is disappointment, i have attended over ten job interviews but when they send appointment letter to me the enemy will frustrate it that it will always get to me late. I have tried deliverance but the battle is not fully won. In most cases only women prophets see the revelation of my case. Many pastors whenever they pray for me complain of seeing a spirit being standing in between and pointing a gun at them. But some keep telling me they see two people man and woman following me all the time. This condition has actually increased my desire to serve God and have built a sound prayer life in my life.
