Memorise: “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous” (1 Jn 5:3) Read: 2 Kings 5:13-14 |
| “And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? How much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash and be clean?” (2 Kings 5:13).
Naaman the leprous general of the Syrian army, came to Elisha the man of God to be healed of his leprosy. What he was asked to do did not make any sense to him and he left in a rage. Most times, God’s solutions do not make sense. The way into your breakthrough may make no meaning to a rational man, yet that is God’s choice.
This also accounts for why some people miss their blessings. When they meet with what should change their lives, they pay no attention to them because they appear meaningless. May you not lose your blessing to ignorance in Jesus’ Name. Dipping into a river seven times to cure a leper has no scientific basis. Going round the city walls seven times and shouting does not make sense to war experts who want victory over that city. Throwing a fishing net at a time fishes should have dispersed makes no meaning to a fisherman. God’s solution does not have to make sense to you for it to work . Some Christians have refused to obey God on some issues just because the instruction seems absurd or foolish. You must be ready to be deemed ‘foolish’ if you have decided to follow the Lord. Another lesson about the nature of God’s solutions is that God is very simple and therefore solves problems in a simple way. Most times, what God will ask you to do to enhance your status or change your life, is something you can easily do. For instance, what you will live on could be a talent, ability or investment He has already given to you. It could be a bottle of oil you already have. God did not ask Naaman to do a hard thing or pay a costly price to get healed. Anything God requires from you is something you can afford to do or give. He will not make impossible demands of you. Yet, as simple as His demands may be, some people still find it difficult obeying them. Are you like Naaman?
What simple instruction have you failed to obey? Arise, repent, go and obey that instruction now. Naaman eventually obeyed and got his miracle. As you obey the Lord today, you will receive your miracle.
