“Then King Darius wrote: To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you. I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel.
For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end.
He delivers and rescues, And He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions. So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.”
Darius now acknowledges the superiority of Daniel’s God as we shall see in the following points;
1- Living God – All others therefore are dead.
2- Steadfast forever – All other gods must therefore be changeable.
3- Kingdom not destroyed – All others must come to an end.
4- His dominion shall be even unto the end – No human power can prevail against it.
5- Delivers those in bondage and is able to rescue those that call upon Him.
6- He is the God that works signs and wonders.
7- He delivered Daniel before our own eyes – Manifestation of God’s power right in front of their faces.
Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee (Psalms 76:10) as was the case here. They tried to have Daniel put to death, but it only caused the advancement of the truth and the glorification of God. For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth. (2 Corinthians 13:8)
Daniel chapter 6 comes to a close with the following words, Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
