Soul Secret
Lord, I’m sick and tired of lies. Weary of dodging verbal bullets and ducking under insults. You know I did not do what they say I’ve done. They’re out to get be me , to make me the butt of all their jokes. How could they be so cruel? With friends like mine, who needs enemies?
And then I think of all the suffering you did while you were walking on this earth. They make jokes about you too. You were despised and rejected and ridiculed—and crucified. They dared you to prove yourself even while you were hanging on a cross. Talking your breath—for them and for me! And that’s when you said, “Father, forgive them. They don’t know what they’re doing.”
Lord, forgive me for my pity party. Send the Spirit of Truth into every aspect of this situation. Keep me strong in you and keep me focused on the path you have sent before me.
Then stretch my heart big enough to forgive others as you have forgiven me. I thank you, Father, that what others have meant for evil, you will use to good.
