Peace with God
When an entire nation relegate the concept of anything that has to do with God; when such a nation strikes the name ‘God’ out of her pledge of allegiance; when the legal system is opting for the statute of the ten commandment to be taken out of its public system; when the constitutions are paving the way for gay marriages to be legalized within the jurisdiction of every state; when our children are exposed to pornographic images rather than things that would spiritually groom them; when many marriages are hitting the rock and divorce filings are on the rise; when many of our young boys and girls are ravaged by inordinate promiscuous lifestyles: Is there any pathway to peace? Can a nation or people laden with intense hatred for God experience true peace from God?
Dearly beloved, remember that it is impossible to be at peace with somebody whose rules and regulations are violated everyday. God is angry with sinful people and this nation everyday.
The scripture says “the wicked shall be turned into hell and all nations that forget God” (Psalm 9:17).
Friends, it is sad to note that this nation has forgotten God. Praying publicly has become a taboo.
Anyone that rises to preach the gospel in the workplace or any other social gatherings is opposed with intense criticism.
Surprisingly, the aftermath of September 11 led to one of the highest influx of people to different churches. Virtually, all churches were full to capacity. Everyone was looking for a pathway to peace. Uncertainty and fear struck everyone like a dagger in the heart. The need for God resurfaced in the minds of everyone. Beloved, must we wait for tragedy to strike before seeking peace from God? There are many dieing on a daily basis as a result of their willful disobedient to God. This is not appealing to God, who is not willing to see any nation or individual in hell.
Dear friend, are you really happy with your life? What about your children that is out of control? What about your marriage that is ravaged by infidelity? What about the addiction to uncontrollable immorality? What about the daily conflicts between you and your spouse? The list is endless. Jesus Christ is waiting for you.
He wants to give you real peace. Jesus Christ provides the true pathway to a lasting peace. He says “come unto me, all ye that labor and heavy laden and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
