Today is being marked as a thanksgiving day in United States. Coincidentally, today Save the World is celebrating its 1st anniversary.
Psalm 100:
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Serve the Lord with gladness;
come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord he is God;
it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,
and into his courts with praise;
be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting;
and his truth endureth to all generations.
As you celebrate Thanksgiving today, lets reflect on the contents of this Psalm..which is one of the best Psalm of Praise and thanksgiving in the Bible.
1. Start your thanksgiving dinner by Singing an hymn, songs of praise or worship..
2. The Bible says Sing joyfully..so sing with dancing…the Bible says sing noisefully…one way you can achieve this by playing musical instruments. So, as you buy food stuffs for dinner..also get musical intruments that will assist you to make a joyful noise.
3. Lets look at another verse: ‘Enter into his gates with thanksgiving’..that also reemphasises the need to start todays thanksgiving with Praise to God. No matter you plans today on how to mark the thanksgiving, ensure you start with Thanking and Praising God.
4. ‘be thankful unto him,…this means you should use the opportunity of your family coming together to count the blessings of God on your family and thank Him….consider the good ness and mercies of God on your marriage, family, business, academics, and life since January 2008 and give God thanks for all you have been able to overcome.
5. ‘Bless his name’….say sweet things to Him……adore Him….worship Him….exalt Him…gather a list of the names of God and Praise Him..based on His attributes
If you are able to observe this suggestions, you must have conducted a thanksgiving acceptable to God, your creator
