TOPIC: THE TEN CONMMANDEMENT 4
SUBTOPIC: REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY TO KEEP IT HOLY
TEXT:
EXDOUS 20:1-11, GENESIS 2:1-3, PSALM 46:10, Mark2:27-28, Luke13:10-17.
INTRODUCTION:-Sabbath day is a day to honour the Lord with out any distraction by praising, thanking and worship and worshipping him in spirit and truth, John 4:24. the Sabbath day is the 7th day. God created heaven and earth in 6 days and on the 7th day He rested from all his labours. We are told the Sabbath day is a blessed day for God’s people and his hallowed unto the lord, Genesis 2:1-3, Exodus 20:8-11.
This thus means that physical and spiritual refreshing comes to all those who observe the Sabbath. Christian should plan to give themselves rest from their labour so as to concentrate on God for his blessing and direction for a new week.
Marking money is not everything. Assemble with God’s people videos when you should be in God’s presence for blessing on the Sabbath day.
Question;:
1. How do we keep the Sabbath day holy?
2. Some argue the Sabbath day is not on Sunday, so when is the Sabbath day?
3. Compare Ex.20:10 with Luke 13:10-17 and relate this scriptures to how we should observe the Sabbath day to day.
4. Explain what Jesus meant by the scripture in Mark 2:27-28

I AM TRYING TO UNDERSTAND THIS QUOIT FROM THE BIBLE IS TI WRONG TO PULL YOUR ANIMAL OUT OF A HOLE IF TI HAS FALLEN IN ON THE SABBATH ,IF MY EMPLOYER SAYS I HAVE TO WORK ON THE SABBATH ,SHOULD I FALL BEHIND ON MY RENT OR HAVE FAITH THAT THE LORD WILL MAKE A WAY, IS NT WORKING ON THE SABBATH KINDA LIKE PULLING YOUR ANIMAL OUT OF A HOLE AFTER ALL DOESNT OUR FATHER KNOW OUR HEART

Colossians 3:22: Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
I think the Bible is very clear on this…first, God has given us a sabbath rest, therefore we are not to observe the sabbath day religiously as the Pharisees use to do…this the message that Jesus conveyed..that the Jews were merely being religious.
Second, the passages quoted below shows we must not play with our Jobs by disobeying our masters. The days of manna dropping from heaven have past..so you need to work for your pay..and ensure you obey the rules.
However, if the work is seriously affecting your Christian commitment, you can pray for a better hob
I am a sabbath Day observer, I worship with Christ Healing Sabbath Mission inc. Nig. I’m a yoth leader in my church. But the problem I have Mostly is that where I school at minna Niger state my church is not there and I find it difficult to keep the sabbath day holy in my house. I have it in mind to start up a fellowship of all sabbathday observing students in my school. But I dont know where and how to start. I know that there are alot of youths out there who are having the same problem as I do. many of us have joined the Sunday worshipping churches just to be called christains. please I need your advice on what to do bcos I know that Sabbath is real and we need to let other people know about it. Thanks….

The person who wrote this blog does not believe that Saturday is the 7th day of the week. The day designated by our creator as the Sabbath day. I was asking him on the phone the same question akin to what chukwuemeka above was asking but the ramblings on the subject of the Sabbath I heard was discouraging. People beware!
