Memorise: “As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them” (Acts 13:2). Read: Acts 13:1-3 |
When given a prophecy, it is important to find out if it confirms what God has already told you or not. If God tells someone to deliver a message to His son, the Lord would have earlier informed that fellow of the message.
“As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them” (Acts 13:2). Earlier, the Lord had told the duo He was sending them on a particular assignment. On this particular day while in the company of others, the Lord openly confirmed what He had told them. 2 Corinthians 13:1 says Out of the mouth of two or three witnesses, every matter shall be established. When God speaks to you but you are in doubt, if He is the One speaking, He will send one of His children to confirm what He had already told you. In the month of September several years ago, a bonafide prophet of God began to prophesy. I immediately wrote down all he said and when he was through, I grabbed my diary and showed him what the Lord had told me since March of the same year. About 90% of what the prophet said had earlier been recorded in my diary. But then I told him he missed it on a particular issue. I pointed out where he erred and he agreed. From experience, you are prone to mistakes when you begin to prophesy, just as children find it difficult to pronounce the letter ‘K’ when they start speaking. They may pronounce ‘kokoro’ as ‘Totoro.’ But as you get more Spirit filled and involved in prophesying, you will hear more distinctly, and record a higher level of fulfilment of the prophecies that are channelled through you. Some Christians do not remember if God had earlier spoken about something He is trying to confirm through prophecy. If you do not adopt a practical stance towards receiving messages from God, the birds of the air would either steal the word or make you to forget it. In that prophetic word is divine direction and guidance; in it is the way out of defeat, despondency, poverty and reproach. If you let the birds of the air steal it, it is your blessing that has been stolen. Record everything God speaks to you from today. Record the prophecies too and find out if the latter are confirming the former. |

Your attitude towards prophecies determines whether they will be fulfilled or not. Be careful! |
