Description
The Bible Explained | Exodus, (114 pages) is a collection of sermons, prayers, Bible study notes, and articles on the 40 chapters of the second book of the Holy Bible, Exodus. The articles were originally written for online publication on SaveTheWorldMinistry.org, an online blog dedicated to sharing Bible-based messages on themes such as salvation, healing, deliverance, and success in life.
Dr. Babalobi started the Save the World Christian Ministry in 2001, using digital platforms to spread the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Over the past 25 years, his essays on various scriptural themes have covered every chapter of the Holy Bible. These writings have now been compiled into The Bible Explained series, covering all 1,189 chapters of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation.
What you will discover in this book, and throughout the series, are interpretations and analyses of various issues documented in the Bible, including laws, commandments, principles, events, stories, and occurrences. The articles are presented in several formats, commonly as study guides, but also as teaching and preaching materials. Some are written in the form of sermons.
The articles are written in basic English, with the Scriptures given simple interpretations. They seek to avoid unnecessary theological positions, bearing in mind that the original manuscripts were written for online readers from various Christian denominations who desire a better understanding of the Scriptures.
In terms of presentation, many of the articles are relatively short and focused. They are given clear titles and often use bullet points or numbered sections, allowing readers to quickly identify, understand, and assimilate the key messages.
The Bible Explained | Exodus presents its contents chapter by chapter. However, unlike most devotional books, it is not intended to be a conventional chapter-by-chapter study guide. The articles are issue- or theme-focused rather than chapter-focused. Consequently, some chapters in this compilation contain several articles, while others contain fewer. This reflects the varying number and significance of issues arising from each chapter of the book.
Purpose and Emphasis
Overall, the emphasis of these articles is to remind readers of God’s laws and commandments, God’s plan for the salvation of the world, the purpose of God behind His actions and decisions, the mind of God, the person and works of the Holy Spirit, the ministry of Jesus Christ, the principles of Christian living, lessons from biblical stories and events, the meaning of Scripture, and godly principles for success in life. Prayer points are also integrated into many of the articles to encourage readers to seek divine intervention in the circumstances and challenges of life.
The ultimate objective of these articles is to lead readers to the cross and to the way of salvation, and ultimately to heaven, through accepting the Lordship of Jesus Christ, living as born-again Christians, and obeying His commandments in holiness and righteousness.
Themes and Index
The major themes addressed in the book are presented in the introductory pages. This allows readers to identify the issues addressed in each section and consider their relevance to their particular circumstances.
The book is also complemented by an index section that catalogues key concepts, subjects, and recurring terms, together with their corresponding page references. This makes it easier for readers to locate specific subjects and return to articles that address particular biblical themes or life issues.
I pray that The Bible Explained | Exodus will assist in the scriptural reflection, understanding, spiritual development, and growth of all segments of the Christian community—including converts, church members, church workers, pastors, and Christian leaders.
May this book help readers understand the Word of God more clearly, apply its principles more faithfully, and grow in their relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
